Do you live a healthy lifestyle? Ask this question to yourself and be true to yourself. Making just a few changes in your lifestyle can help you live longer and happier.
Healthy lifestyle is extremely important for everyone and if you guys follow me on my IG handle you would know I am not a fitness freak but elemental which is important for leading a healthy life.
In this post, I will be sharing some tips to maintain a healthy lifestyle. It might not include everything to stay fit but has major components which are crucial points to lead a healthy life.
Three major focus areas are :
Workout, Diet & Mental health.
Whenever we think of health the first thing that comes to mind is physical activity and yes it is very essential.
There are numerous workout routines available now a days and you can pick up as per your comfort and preference.
Some of the best workouts are Swimming, Spinning, Running, Zumba, Yoga, functional training, Weight lifting and many more.
I personally don’t enjoy weight lifting, but I love pushing myself in different workouts like functional training and spinning.
Physical activity not only helps in maintaining weight but it is very important in long run to keep you healthy and immuned from large number of diseases .
Some pointers you need to remember :
*At least try to include a minimum of 4 days and maximum of 6 days workout schedule in a week.
*Never workout empty stomach, this will spoil your muscles and is not good for your health.
*Always select a workout which you actually enjoy and are not forced for.
*Give more importance to the posture while working out, else incorrect posture will not give you any benefit plus will damage your bones.
*You can have a coffee shot before the workout to boost up the energy.
*Try to indulge in some source of protein post workout, very important to build the muscle mass which in long-term will help you reduce weight.
*One very important thing we all should know, working out only can keep you maintain your weight but won’t really help you with weight loss. You need to follow some diet if you really wish to shed of those excessive fat.
Eating ( Diet):
Lot of us think, if we are working out we can eat anything we wish for. Let me tell you guys that won’t work.
While getting physical activities involved in your daily routine you really need to take care of what you eat. As the graph says when you want to lose weight: Workout will help 20% and most important is diet which is 80%.
You don’t really need to go into strict diet if you don’t have a target to lose weight but just healthy eating for a better and fit life.
Some pointers to remember :
*Thumb rule Breakfast should be the largest meal of the day, Lunch should be lighter than breakfast and dinner should be the lightest.
*Having 1 tbsp Apple cider vinegar in warm water before each meal helps in weight loss.
*If you are into heavy weights, don’t forget to add more of protein diet.
*Have lots of vegetables and fruits along with fat-free and low-fat milk products.
*Avoid having fruits at night, as it contains sugar.
*Replace sugar with jaggery in tea and coffee and similarly look for replacement for sugar like honey or jaggery wherever it can be managed. If you don’t like jaggery, you can even replace sugar with stevia. It’s easily available in most supermarkets.
*Have green tea and nuts when you feel like munching or as mid meal snacks.
*Avoid packaged food and drinks and look for food which is low on saturated fats, trans fat, salt, cholesterol, whole grain and sugar.
*Coconut oil is the best even when it comes to cooking. I know the taste is little weird but you need to get use to it if you really want to stay fit.
*Watch out on the portion you eat. Have small portion that can satisfy your hunger and do not over eat.
Mental Health :
We often don’t consider mental health while thinking of a healthy lifestyle but it is equally important as Eating and Physical activity.
In fact I believe this part is more crucial than the other for a balanced lifestyle.
Some pointer to remember :
*Good sleep is very important, to feel fresh and start the day with full enthusiasm. 7 to 9 hours of sleep is generally considered as a good sleep.
*Going through depression or stress. Best way out is speak it out or take advice, that would release the stress slowly rather than keeping it inside it will create more damages.
*Socializing at time is very important to broader your thoughts. Meeting new people and gaining experience from them is a good therapy.
*Dont expect, believe in giving. Thats the best way of calming and you will understand the joy of it.
*Don’t wait for others, do things what you love to do. No doubt every one is busy in life but you need to take that little break and do things which makes you happy for you to work even harder than before and achieve things with open mind.

I hope these tips were beneficial for you all. These are some of the things I try following in my daily routine. If you guys follow even 40% of it, if not all, you will definitely see a change in your lifestyle and health.
Also, don’t get discouraged with no results, this is no magic. You need to follow it religiously for a longer period to see changes.
